Botulism case being treated at Mayo General Hospital

Doctors at Mayo General Hospital are treating the first case of botulism to be detected in Ireland in the past four years.

A Polish man is believed to have contracted the potentially fatal disease after eating a home-cooked meal sent by his wife in Poland.
