Gardaí in Dublin say they have seized up to €30,000 worth of drugs during an operation against mid-level dealers in the west of the city this week.

Thirty people have also been arrested during Operation Marigold, which was mounted in the garda districts of Ballyfermot, Clondalkin and Ronanstown over the past two days.

The crackdown was targeted against mid-level heroin dealers operating just above street level.

Forty premises were searched, leading to the recovery of heroin, cocaine, cannabis resin, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

Fifteen of those arrested were brought before the courts yesterday, while the other 15 are still being questioned by gardaí in various Dublin stations.
