Ahern indicates Irish troops in Lebanon likely

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dermot Ahern today gave the strongest indication yet that Ireland will join the UN peacekeeping forces in the Lebanon.

However the Minister stressed that a key factor in this decision will be consideration of the safety of Irish troops.
