Two men questioned following Cork airport cocaine seizure
Two men were being questioned this afternoon by gardaí in Cork after a cocaine seizure at the airport.
Customs officers seized 1.1 kilos of the drug worth around €100,000.
They became suspicious of two foreign nationals in their 30s who had arrived on a flight from Amsterdam.
A small quantity of cocaine was found strapped to one of their bodies.
After questioning, they were arrested and brought to Cork University Hospital, where it was discovered they had, between them, ingested 110 pellets containing 0.85 kilos of cocaine.
The men have been handed over to Togher Gardaí.
