The concerns were raised following routine testing, with the result of a more in-depth analysis expected tomorrow.

All households in the area are being advised to boil their water before using it for drinking, cooking, washing or brushing teeth.

Meath County Council is also bringing in water tankers this afternoon as an interim measure.
