Government response to inflation 'fatuous'

Green Party finance spokesperson, Dan Boyle today described the Government's response to the rising level of inflation as "fatuous".

Speaking at the Party's think-in at Aughrim, County Wicklow, Deputy Boyle said: "When we hear the Minister for Prices, Michael Martin, say that it is too soon after the removal of the groceries order for grocery prices to go down; and when the Minister for Housing blames high house prices on speculators – people who have benefited from policies that this government has put place – then surely this government is losing the plot in relation to inflation."
