30% of population have high blood pressure and cholesterol

Up to one third of the population of Ireland have high cholesterol and blood pressure, according to a new survey by Bupa Ireland.

The company said the study indicated that more women than men are likely to have high cholesterol.

Out of 3,000 people tested, just more than 30% had a greater level than 5, which is the maximum recommended threshold.
