Irish Red Cross warns of humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka

The Irish Red Cross is warning that the situation in Sri Lanka is nearing a humanitarian crisis with 800 deaths and 30,000 people left homeless since the beginning of this year.

The organisation's relief efforts have been ongoing in the region as fierce fighting continues between the armed forces and the Tamil Tiger rebel group.
