Govt launches campaign on school bus seat belts
The Department of Education has launched a nationwide campaign informing parents and children about new laws on wearing seatbelts in school buses.
The vast majority of both private and public school buses have already been fitted with seat belts ahead of the new term.
The installation programme was arranged following the bus crash that claimed the lives of five teenage schoolgirls in Kentstown, Co Meath, in May of last year.
Under new laws, children on school buses will now be required to wear seat belts wherever they are available.
