Gardaí release man held in relation to Kerry murder

Gardaí in Co Kerry have released the man arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Eddie Joe Clancy in Tralee.

The 24-year-old man was detained in Tralee just before noon yesterday.

Mr Clancy, a 50-year-old homeless man, died in hospital after he was found lying in a pool of blood on Bridge Street on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí believe he was attacked by at least one person who left him to die.

A file on the case is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
