Taxi drivers to discuss campaign against new fares
Thousands of taxi drivers are expected to attend a meeting in Dublin tonight to discuss their campaign of opposition to a new fare structure.
Dublin-based taxi drivers are particularly opposed to the changes, which will see them losing out on luggage charges and the special fee for pick-ups at Dublin Airport.
They claim the new fare structure is being imposed by the regulator, Ger Deering, without taking the concerns of taxi drivers into account.
However, Mr Deering has insisted that they follow an extensive consultation process which the drivers were invited to take part in.
