Biker killed in collision
A motorcyclist was killed today after he collided with a car in north Dublin.
The incident happened at around 3.45pm at Malahide Road, Coolock and gardai are investigating.
Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy has appointed a senior officer to probe reports of suspicious activity in the area prior to the crash.
He will also examine the circumstances of the collision itself.
The 35-year-old man was riding bike with a pillion passenger when the crash occurred.
Both the deceased and his passenger were taken to Beaumont Hospital.
The passenger is being treated for leg injuries. The driver of the car was unhurt.
The scene is being examined by the Fatal Traffic Collision Investigation Unit.
