Wanted sex offender, 77, recaptured
A high-risk convicted sex offender being hunted by police in the North was recaptured tonight.
Robert Simpson Wallace, 77, was detained in Lurgan, after detectives urged the public to be on the lookout for him.
Wallace had failed to register with police after leaving approved accommodation in Belfast.
The former prisoner had initially complied with his probation conditions before disappearing.
He had been described as posing a serious risk to vulnerable women and girls.
The public alert was issued after police warned ports and airports, and exhausted all internal means to try to track him down.
