Man quizzed after Armagh tobacco seizure
A man was questioned today about a huge tobacco seizure linked to dissident republican terrorists.
He was arrested as part of an investigation into the discovery of 15 million cigarettes in Co Armagh.
The suspect was being held at the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s serious crime suite in Antrim.
The cigarettes were uncovered last November during planned searches by police, UK Revenue and Customs.
At the time it was estimated the potential loss to the British Exchequer was £2.5m (€3.7m).
Two men were charged earlier this year in connection with the seizure, while a third was remanded on bail.
