Croagh Patrick pilgrims urged to take proper precautions

Today is Reek Sunday and pilgrims are being urged to take adequate precautions before scaling Croagh Patrick this morning.

It is estimated that up to 18,000 people are making the annual pilgrimage to climb Mayo's holy mountain.

The Mayo mountain rescue crew is advising climbers to be aware of the height of the mountain, dress for the occasion, and bring a small amount of food and water.
