100,000 plus expected to scale Croagh Patrick tomorrow
Over 100,000 pilgrims are expected to make the annual climb to the peak of Croagh Patrick tomorrow morning.
For the first time since St Patrick himself made the pilgrimage, his successor the Archbishop of Armagh Sean Brady will climb to the summit of the mountain.
He will join the Archbishop of Tuam Michael Neary in celebrating mass at the peak.
Archbishop Neary said the pilgrimage remains as significant as it was 1500 years ago.
