Gardaí not seeking to question anyone in connection with Cork death

Gardaí investigating the discovery of a woman's body in Cork city say they're not looking for anyone else in connection with her death.

The 21-year-old's remains were found in a house in Blackpool early this morning.

The State Pathologist is due at the scene later this afternoon.

Superintendent Martin Shanahan of Mayfield Garda Station says police were alerted when a woman covered in blood went to a taxi office in Blackpool.

Supt Shanahan said: "As a result of the discussion I had with the woman she was taken to hospital with the infant. They then went back to a house on the Collins Road where the body of a 21-year-old female was found.

"There will be a full post-mortem examination taking place and after that we'll know what way our inquiries are going. But I can say we're not looking for anybody in relation to it at this stage."
