Dublin protest at Israel’s bombardment of Lebanon and Gaza

A demonstration is being staged in the capital later today to highlight opposition to Israel's on going bombardment of Lebanon.

It is being organised by the Irish Anti-War movement and the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

It will take place in Dublin at 2pm, starting at the Garden of Remembrance and marching to the Central Bank via Government Buildings

Protestors want the Government to persuade the EU to suspend trading agreements with Israel.

Spokesperson Raymond Deane said Israel has clearly breached its trade rights: “We’re calling for a ceasefire and we’re also calling on the Irish government to encourage the EU to suspend it’s association agreement with Israel that gives Israel trading privileges on condition that it abides by international humanitarian norms, which it is clearly not doing.”
