DPP asked to consider further action on Shannon protestors
The DPP is being asked to consider an appeal of the Circuit Court decision clearing five anti-war protestors of causing criminal damage to a US Navy plane at Shannon Airport over three years.
The five admitted attacking the plane, but claimed lawful excuse for doing so as they were acting to save lives in Iraq.
Fianna Fáil Senator Brendan Daly today contacted the Attorney General in relation to the case. He has requested that the DPP consider taking the case to the Court of Criminal Appeal.
