Man aressted in connection with caravan blaze

Gardaí tonight arrested a man in connection with the discovery of a body in a burning caravan.

The 21-year-old was detained after a man’s body was recovered from the fire in Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny this morning.

Firefighters who were called to the scene at Deer Park at around 4.25am found the remains after extinguishing the blaze.

It is believed the dead man was from the area.

Gardaí made the arrest under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A post mortem examination is due to take place at Waterford Regional Hospital.
