HSE committee completes inquiry into Wexford death
An independent committee set up by the Health Service Executive has reportedly completed its investigation into the death of Evelyn Joel in Co Wexford earlier this year.
The 58-year-old MS sufferer died at Wexford General Hospital on New Year's Day after she was admitted six days earlier in a severely malnourished state.
Her daughter, who had been taking care of her, said she had refused to eat since the death of her partner in mid-December.
The HSE subsequently set up a committee to investigate the matter and make recommendations.
Reports this morning said it had now completed that investigation and was in the process of compiling its conclusions.
