Carthy killing report to be published

A long-awaited report into the fatal shooting of John Carthy after an armed siege with gardaí over six years ago is to be made public today.

Mr Carthy, who suffered from manic depression, was shot four times by two members of the Garda Emergency Response Unit outside his home in Abbeylara, Co Longford in April 2000.
