Chartered plane to take Irish out of Lebanon

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dermot Ahern today ordered the chartering of a plane to evacuate the remaining Irish living in the Lebanon.

A spokesperson said: “Sixty Irish citizens had already signed up to the evacuation which will take place on Monday morning but it was estimated there were around 100 in total in the country.
