The Irish Farmers Association is seeking an urgent meeting with the Taoiseach to discuss its unhappiness with the way the Government is sharing out EU compensation funds for the sugar industry.

Yesterday, Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan announced that around two thirds of the €145m compensation would go to Greencore, with farmers getting €40m.
