Fahey asks gardaí to investigate alleged surveillance operation

Junior Justice Minister Frank Fahey has reportedly asked gardaí to investigate what he claims is a political vendetta to undermine him in the next general election.

Reports in the today’s Sunday Independent claim Mr Fahey complained to gardaí about an alleged surveillance operation.

The junior minister has come under increasing political pressure following the publication of a series of articles about his multi-million-euro business interests, including links to a Russian hairdressing salon.

A spokeswoman for Mr Fahey said he was unavailable for comment today.
