Man held after €50,000 drugs seizure in Portlaoise

A man has been arrested in Co Laois following a drugs seizure in Portlaoise.

The man, who is from the area and in his 20s, was arrested when gardaí stopped his car in the Woodgrove area of the town.

Ecstasy tablets and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €50,000, were recovered.

Meanwhile, three men are still in custody in Dublin after gardaí foiled a major drugs deal in the west of the city.
