ICSA protest in support of farmer denied planning permission
A protest has taken place in Waterford in support of a farmer who is being refused planning permission for a house on his land.
William Galvin is renting land at Carrick-on-Suir, but bought eight acres in a bid to secure planning permission for a home.
The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association claims that Waterford County Council has told 27-year-old Mr Galvin that he has no hope of getting planning on the land.
ICSA President in Waterford Edmond Phelan said today that this decision flies in the face of government incentives to encourage young people back to the land.
