Robinson: Moringa tree could help alleviate hunger
Former President Mary Robinson is urging Irish aid agencies to carry out further research on the Moringa tree.
The tree can be grown in every African country and its leaves are high in vitamins and minerals.
It can also be used to make a food supplement which helps boost the immune system of people infected by HIV and AIDS.
Speaking at a Concern seminar on hunger today, Dr Robinson said the tree could alleviate food shortages.
