Delays at Dublin Airport following bomb scare
There are serious flight delays at Dublin Airport following a bomb alert earlier this afternoon.
The terminal building was temporarily evacuated after a man ran into the arrivals hall at about 1.40pm claiming he had a bomb.
A middle-aged man is being questioned by gardaí and the airport has been declared safe.
Spokesperson Siobhán Moore says she can't say when the backlog of flights will be cleared.
“The incident took about two hours. In that period there were approximately 50 flights arriving and departing that were affected," she said.
She added: “There were approximately 9,000 passengers arriving and departing during that time period, so obviously there's going to be a knock-on effect in getting those passengers facilitated, but that's very much underway at the moment.”
