Three major garda stations in Dublin are facing closure under a new plan to rationalise stations in the capital.

Harcourt Terrace is expected to be sold for an estimated €40m, while Mountjoy Square is up for sale with the nearby prison due for relocation to Thornton Hall in Rolestown.

The Office of Public Works says the future of Fitzigibbon street station is under review.

Gardaí attached to Harcourt Street will be moved to a new premises which will be attached to Kevin street station.
