Fr Neil Horan to 'give readings' outside World Cup final

Eccentric Kerry priest Neil Horan has said he intends to mount one of his infamous demonstrations at the World Cup final next weekend.

The defrocked cleric says he will stand in front of the main entrance to the Olympic stadium in Berlin two hours before the final, giving readings and doing a jig.

Horan first made the headlines when he ran out in front of a Formula One car during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 2003.

The following year, he was in the news again when he confronted the leader of the men's marathon event at the Athens Olympic, pushing him into the crowd and causing him to lose the race.

Horan was given a 12-month suspended sentence and fined €3,000 as a result of his actions.
