Majority favours speaking rights proposal: Adams

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams has claimed that a clear majority of TDs support giving speaking rights in the Oireachtas to Northern MPs.

Sinn Féin has been pushing this issue for some time and last October, the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern wrote to other party leaders in the Dáil proposing that the North's 18 MPs be allowed participate in a committee comprising of the whole House.
