HSE considers proposal for four private hospitals

The Health Service Executive is considering a proposal to build four new private hospitals on public hospital sites, it was revealed this afternoon.

The Mater Private wants to build similar private clinics at Dublin's Beaumont Hospital, University College Hospital in Galway, Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick and Waterford Regional Hospital.

They say the mix of public and private services on one site is of great benefit to patients.
