The Teachers Union of Ireland is holding a special union congress today to discuss its stance on the new social partnership deal.

The union's executive has already decided to recommend rejection of the Towards 2016 deal in response to what it believes are insufficient pay rises and a lack of commitment to provide extra resources to education.
