Forum on Human Rights taking place at Croke Park
The annual Department of Foreign Affairs NGO forum on human rights is taking place in Croke Park today.
Minister of State for Development and Human Rights Conor Lenihan is underlining Ireland's commitment to supporting the new Human Rights Council.
One of the issues on the agenda today is immigration and Minister Lenihan said that Ireland had been praised by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for how we deal with applications.
However, he went on to say that an open door policy here would be detrimental.
