Woman killed in Offaly road accident

A woman in her 70s was killed in a road accident in Co Offaly this afternoon.

The crash occurred on the Tullamore to Birr road just outside Tullamore.

The victim was the sole occupant of a car that collided with a lorry.

The lorry driver, who is not thought to have been seriously injured, was taken to Tullamore General Hospital for treatment .
