Incendiary device thrown into Sligo pub

Gardaí in Sligo are investigating an incident in which an incendiary device was thrown through the window of a pub owned by a prominent local businesswoman.

Gardaí in Sligo are investigating an incident in which an incendiary device was thrown through the window of a pub owned by a prominent local businesswoman.

Ann Caheny, the president of the Sligo Chamber of Commerce, was asleep when the home-made device was thrown through the window of her pub on the Mailcoach Road at around 4am.

Two others were also inside at the time, but nobody was hurt as the device failed to ignite.

Gardaí are still trying to establish a motive for the attack.
