Man killed in Down crash

A 22-year-old man has died following a car crash in Co Down, police said today.

The victim was a passenger in a Rover which was in collision with a Volkswagen Golf on the Hilltown Road, near Mayobridge.

Police said the male driver of the Rover was taken to hospital but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Golf was treated for shock.

A PSNI spokesman appealed for witnesses to the accident, which happened at around 10pm yesterday, to come forward.
