A week-long forum on environmental health gets underway in Dublin's Trinity College today.

Health specialists from Ireland and abroad will gather to discuss a wide range of issues, including tobacco control.

They will also be looking at the new law banning the use of sunbeds for children under the age of 16.

Anne Marie Part, who is chairing the meeting, says the move is very welcome given the previous lack of regulation for sun beds and anecdotal evidence that they are being widely used by children regardless of the risks of skin cancer.
