Foreign Affairs has names of two Irish involved in Croatia crash
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it has been given the names of two Irish tourists who were caught up in a fatal accident in north-west Croatia.
It is believed that three of the five tourists who were killed in the crash are Irish. The driver of the mini-bus in which they were travelling also died when the van collided with a truck near Pula.
It is understood the group was travelling to Slovenia when the crash happened.
A spokeswoman said the Croatian authorities have yet to confirm whether the two named individuals were killed or injured in the crash.
Government officials in Dublin have been in touch with the families of the two but no further details have been released.
A Department of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman said: “The Croatian police are still working to establish the identities of the victims.”
