DPP gets file on Rachel O’Reilly murder after 21 months
Gardaí have sent a file on the murder of Rachel O'Reilly to the Director of Public Prosecutions, after investigating the case for 21 months.
It is understood that senior Garda officers hope the file, which extends over four volumes, will result in criminal charges.
The mother of two was bludgeoned to death in her home in the Naul, in North County Dublin, in October 2004.
A series of arrests have been made since her murder, but no has ever been charged.
