Son of North’s Police Ombudsman assaulted in Belfast

A son of the North's Police Ombudsman is recovering in hospital after he was beaten during an assault in north Belfast this morning.

The 22-year-old received multiple injuries in the attack in the early hours of the morning.

His condition is unknown.

He is the son of Nuala O'Loan, the Police Ombudsman, and her husband, Declan O'Loan, an SDLP councillor in north Co Antrim.
