Two men injured, one seriously, after stolen taxi crash
One man is in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital and another is being treated at St James’ Hospital after a stolen taxi crashed in Ballyfermot this morning.
It is understood that a fight broke out in a minibus taxi which was bringing six men from Inchicore towards the city just before 2am.
The driver then removed two of the men from the vehicle.
While he was doing so, another passenger stole the taxi which subsequently crashed and overturned at the junction of Cherry Orchard Avenue and Croftwood Crescent.
Two men in their 20s were taken to hospital and the others fled the scene.
The minibus has been removed for a technical examination and gardaí at Kilmainham and Ballyfermot are investigating the incident.
