Parents of barred Junior Cert students consider legal action

It has emerged that the parents of the students who were excluded from taking their Junior Cert exams are considering taking legal action against Tullamore College and its principal.

The Union of Secondary Students is to consider its options over the weekend but has tonight confirmed that it has referred the matter to its legal advisers in Ireland and Europe.

It has also emerged that the union has found that Tullamore College does not in fact have any rules in its code of conduct which states that pupils are not allowed to have short hair.
