Two quizzed after five-car pile-up

Two men were being questioned by police tonight after a multiple road accident in West Belfast in which several people were injured.

They were arrested after the five car collision on the Glen Road close to the junction with Shaws Road.

The Police Service said a number of people had been injured – none were thought to have been seriously hurt.

Meanwhile a 20-year-old man was charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a car crashed into a skip on a road in south Belfast at the weekend.

The man, who has also been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury and a number of other motoring offences, is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow.

An 18-year-old girl in the rear of a Rover 200 died and another person injured in the accident at Windsor Park on Sunday.

The death of the girl increased the death toll on the North’s roads so far this year to 55.
