Trócaire director elected president of Concord
The director of Trócaire has been elected president of an influential European body that represents more than 1,600 non-governmental organisations.
Justin Kilcullen is the first Irish person to get the top post in Concord, and will hold it for three years.
Last year, it was responsible for distributing €9.2bn in development aid.
His first action has been to call for all EU development work to be brought under the mantle of just one commissioner - it's currently handled by three.
