A man was being questioned today after a woman was killed when a car crashed into a skip in south Belfast.

A man was being questioned today after a woman was killed when a car crashed into a skip in south Belfast.

The victim, aged 18, was a back-seat passenger in a blue Rover 200, which collided with the bin on Windsor Park.

A 22-year-old man who was in the front seat of the car was taken to hospital following the accident at around 6.30am today. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police confirmed that another man aged 20 was arrested following the crash.

They also closed a section of the road close to where the collision happened at the junction with Eileen Gardens.

Investigating detectives have urged witnesses to contact police at Lisburn Road Station.
