An overnight strike by taxi drivers has come to an end.

The strike was based in Cork and Kerry. There were also reports of taxi shortages in Dublin, Waterford and Carlow.

Drivers in the south instigated the action in protest over new measures being introduced by the Taxi Regulator.

Tommy Gorman of the National Taxi Drivers' Union says it is likely they will now ballot on taking further industrial action later this month.
