Appeals to Bank Holiday drivers to consider safety

Appeals are being made to people to leave the car at home if taking a drink this weekend.

Drink drivers, in particular are being targeted as part of the Operation Life Saver and Arrive Alive campaigns.

The death toll for the year has reached 171 victims.

Motorists are also being asked by the National Safety Council to ensure that their cars are road worthy.
