Divers continue search for bodies on sunken Maggie B

Navy divers are continuing to search the fishing trawler that sank off the coast of Co Wexford earlier this year in the hope of finding the bodies of its two missing crewmen.

The Maggie B sank near the Hook Peninsula on March 29.

One of the three crewmen was rescued from the water, but the others - 30-year-old Corkman Glen Cott and 45-year-old Polish national Jan Sankowski - have never been found.

Mr Cott's family met Junior Minister Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher last week in the hope of getting the vessel raised from the seabed.

Mr Gallagher subsequently ordered divers to conduct an inspection to determine if the bodies may still be trapped within the hull.

That inspection began on Monday, but has been hampered by bad weather.

The Naval Service is hoping that conditions will ease today, allowing a more detailed examination of the wreck.
